Food and Accommodations

Accomodations and meals for the entire duration of the course in Antigua is arranged by the Field School and included within the provided cost summary.  Students are provided clean, high quality, fully furnished houses that are rented on a seasonal basis.  These houses are located near a quiet village at Cobbs Cross in the historic Nelson's Dockyard National Park, English Harbour.  The houses are on a hillside, are cool and spacious with adequate workspaces and have a good scenic view of Falmouth Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean.

Antigua Race Week

Delicious meals are provided three times a day, seven days a week, by our own fabulous cook.  All meals are served at the main house (located central to student houses).  All meals are varied, well balanced and delicious.  Breakfast is light - fresh fruit, cereal and toast; lunch is a brown bag, sandwich affair to be eaten in the field during the week, with a warm lunch being served on weekends; dinner is a full hot meal ranging from local delicacies to familiar North American food.  Meals can be supplemented at the students cost with snacks available for sale at local shops.  Students are not permitted to cook in the houses as part of the rental agreement.  All students will be expected to assist with kitchen duties on a rota basis.

Note: due to logistical constraints, it is not always possible to provide meals to individuals with dietary restrictions (eg. strict vegetarians) since all students must be on the group meal plan. Please contact instructors if you have dietary restrictions and we will do our best to accommodate your needs; however, we may not be able to do so.
